My Background

Three of my aunts, my mother, and my grandmother were all nurses working either in general nursing or learning disabilities.  Some of my earliest memories were of various discussions about their patients.   At 14 I was voluntarily organising social events for people with learning disabilities.
 
I completed my state SRN general nurse training in 1980 and then travelled around Europe and the Middle East. Over the last 22 years I have successfully balanced raising five children, studying for multiple qualifications in holistic therapies and providing voluntary counselling to alcoholics and addicts face to face and via a national telephone line.

The past five years I have been working in agency care with elderly clients, children and adults with learning disabilities, psychiatry and challenging behaviours in residential, nursing and home care.

My interests include spending time with my children, swimming, walking my dog and yoga. My plan next year is to start a BSC Degree in Complimentary Therapy.

The Business

I have a keen interest in providing mental and physical healing. Over the past twelve years I have practiced spiritual healing and Reiki on myself, my friends and my family and more recently on fee paying clients.
Since completing my nursing training I have experimented  with all forms of complimentary therapy, nutrition and counselling.
After completing my Level 3 Certificate in Reflexology I joined The International Council of Holistic Therapists. In 2007 to achieve my ambition of becoming a professional healer I founded Serenity Complimentary Therapy in 2007. I now offer the following variety of therapies and treatments:-
